Reverse (option)

REVERSING OPTION FOR AMPHIBIOUS AIRCRAFT
Airmaster offers Beta (option) on AP332 and AP4 series propellers as an aid for on the water manoeuvring operations of amphibious aircraft and float planes.
This is an excellent safety feature allowing ample reverse thrust to counter trailing winds that can be a problem for amphibious aircraft while taxiing on the water.
Simple Operation
BETA : ACTIVATE : MANUAL
An easy three step sequence is all that is required to engage the beta operation.  This allows quick activation without risking unintentional engagement.

Wide Pitch Range
The ‘Fine/Coarse’ switch can now been used to position the propeller pitch anywhere in the range of -20deg to +40deg.

Software
Software interlocks monitor the speed of the engine and will not allow movement into the beta zone if the rpm is above preset limits.  This stops engagement during flight.

Electrical
Electrical interlocks require activation of the manual fine/coarse switch to allow beta operation.  Double microswitches are provided on the fine pitch stop for redundancy.

Mechanical
Mechanical interlocks are provided in the form of a ‘safety gate’ that physically locks out the beta zone at high rpm.
